Le Parisien recently reported that PSG were eyeing Lucas Chevalier, but Gianluigi Donnarumma’s strong performances have led the club to stick with their No. 1.
Donnarumma has had a strong form in the second half of the 2024-25 season. However, journalist Florent Gautreau told RMC Sport that PSG shouldn’t rule out pursuing Chevalier.
“The guys vote, but you don’t react based on the standings. Donnarumma? No, Chevalier is more complete,” Gautreau said (h/t Le10Sport ). “In terms of technique, he’s above and I don’t see him making mistakes. I think his title is deserved. Is the Chevalier file closed at PSG? Not at all. If you can get a goalkeeper better than Donnarumma, you’re not going to pass up on that.”
Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport says AC Milan are already considering three potential replacements for Mike Maignan, who has yet to agree to a contract extension. Among the options are Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen, Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi, and Chevalier.
The report adds that Milan are reportedly willing to accept a €40 million offer for Maignan. However, the club is still hopeful of keeping their star goalkeeper and has made a new contract offer.
